A security-critical desktop and mobile product handling sensitive encrypted data needed a full QA pass before an enterprise release.
The challenge
The product had no written test documentation and shipped on 3 platforms (Windows, iOS, Android). Edge cases in the decryption flow were the biggest risk — if the app silently failed to decrypt, users would see corrupted output and never know it was wrong.
The approach

Reverse-engineered the critical user journeys and wrote a prioritized test plan covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios.

Built a Robot Framework + Appium suite for mobile regression and manual exploratory passes for desktop edge cases.

Documented every bug with reproduction steps, platform, severity, and screen recordings for engineering handoff.
